The Landscape blanket / Landslagsteppið

Víkurprjón, the knitting factory, is located on the southern coast of Iceland, to the south of one of the country’s largest glaciers. Beneath the ice mass sleeps one of the most active volcanoes in the island, Katla, which wakes up once or twice a century. The last eruption in Katla was in 1918. However, it was Eyjafjallajökull, also located in this area of Iceland, that got the worlds attention in the spring of 2010 after being dormant for a very long time. This volcanic eruption reminded us of the fact that the enormous powers of the nature are and will always be unpredictable.
